The client is a leading global provider of consulting services to the public sector and commercial markets, with broad capabilities in management, technology, and risk consulting.
Challenge:
The client is using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) for reporting services which required extensive manual efforts for the data analysis and generation of reports. Since the SSRS interface is outdated, and the client didn’t have enough control over the appearance of the parameters in the report.
Objective:
They needed a reporting solution and data warehousing system for collecting, formatting, and storing the data to make decisions in real-time.
Solution:
We proposed and developed a cloud-based data processing and reporting solution that was in line with the firm’s strategic goals following a thorough vendor evaluation process. One of the most widely used business intelligence tools on the market today for data warehouse reporting is Power BI. So, we implemented Power BI to aggregate data, create visually attractive reports, and share them across the various teams in their company. To ensure the change management aspect of Power BI was tightly controlled at the enterprise our team of experts worked closely with our client to implement Power BI source and version control. We created a data warehouse and used Microsoft Power BI to generate a master dashboard and row-level security was added to limit the data depending on their role. Our Power Platform consultants developed automated deployment scripts to automate non-essential manual reporting tasks which greatly lowered the overall cost of ownership for Power BI for the organization.
